Our mission is to inspire and to educate the next generation of innovative thinkers. It's never too early to expose children to a plethora of opportunities that empowers them to embrace their uniqueness and magnificence.

Our vision is to provide a platform where young people can learn skills not explicitly taught in traditional school settings, but necessary for success in our globalized world.

  • Our Story

Skillz n' Chillz is a family run camp started during the pandemic to help kids get a sense of 'normalcy'. Our camp promotes interest-driven learning and offers meaningful and fun experiences for children. Our programs nurture each child’s natural wonder of the world by providing a catalyst for creativity, problem-solving, imagination, and freedom to explore and discover.

A few years ago, while thinking of ways to make the summer months meaningful for my children, and ensure they get a chance to explore their interests and avoid the summer slide without my breaking the bank, I had the idea of a 'summer camp at home'. Before the plan was fully developed, we were all in quarantine because of the pandemic. The idea quickly morphed into a virtual camp and Skillz n' Chillz was created.

Currently we offer both in-person and online camps. Our anchor programs include financial literacy, cooking skills, technology skills and leadership. Our target audience is children entering grades 4 through 9; though there is flexibility depending on camp offerings.

Chantal has been a life long teacher and entrepreneur. Her varied business career started at age 11 with the ubiquitous plantain chips, frozen yogurt, and chinchin (noodle-like fried pastry snacks) sales at schools and local businesses in her neighhood. Raised in a family with parents who both had fulltime professional jobs and businesses, Chantal was exposed at a very young age to money matters. She was given the responsibility at age 13 to manage a hardware store and worked as an admistrative assistant at their family owned real estate company during her college years.

As a mother and fulltime educator now, Chantal also runs Skillz n' Chillz camp. She has a passion to share the knowledge, skills and attitudes she has developed over a lifetime as an entrepreneur and educator. She hopes to inspire school-aged children at a young age to challenge their limits, and to embrace new skills in a fun environment, while learning valuable 21st century skills that will set them apart for success.
