Mixed Media Art Camp

Hello Skillz n' Chillz Friends! This week of Skillz n' Chillz was all about Mixed Media Arts. Using simple materials like glue, magazine, styrofoam, yarn, washable markers etc, campers learned how to create unique pieces.  Inspired by Alma Woodsey Thomas one of the projects included making collages with newspapers and magazines to create impressive abstract pieces. This wasn't an easy task to accomplish, but campers enjoyed exploring this new technique.  Skillz n' Chillz campers also worked hard to create the world-wide art of Batik. Using Styrofoam plates and markers, all campers created a beautiful stamp. To finish off the week, Friday was a combo day. Using 2 techniques, the campers made a new art style all by themselves. After all, art is an expression of self!
